On Letting Go
I recently had to say goodbye to something that was very precious to me. I realized that holding on so tightly was smothering the very thing I was trying to nurture.
The process of letting go is sad and hard and full of grief. When I was finally able to loosen my grip with hands wide open, I was shocked at what occurred. I felt more like ME. I realized that in the letting go, I was more aligned with my values and vision for my life. I had more clarity on what to do next. There was sadness, yes, but there was also peace.
As hard as letting go might be, the holding on can be even more exhausting. As difficult as it was to move through the loss and grief, the healing and the hope that came after was worth the work.
